Eligibility is one of the most important things about a loan modification. Loan modifications are great when they are used correctly by the right people, but when people who do not need or deserve loan modifications attempt to apply for one, things go terribly wrong a lot of the time.
Usually to be eligible for a loan modification, you need to have problems with making your current mortgage payments. This can be because of recent financial hardship or anything else that could hold you back from making your payments.
Also you need to prove to your lender, usually a bank of some time, that you will be able to make consistent lowered monthly payments, after all, why go through so much trouble if you can’t make the new payments either.
